The rite invokes Yue Lao (the Old Man Under the Moon, divine matchmaker), the Two Immortals of Harmony and the Celestial Joy Star Lord, chanting the Harmony Praise to dissolve karmic obstacles, gossip, saboteurs and toxic entanglements, and submitting the petition that asks the star lords to tie the red thread and clear all estrangement. The Taoist arts follow karma - they never forcibly break apart others' destined bonds.
