The Practice · 緣起
What it is, plainly
Honoring your ancestors is more than remembrance. In the Taoist tradition, departed family members continue in spirit, and when they are respectfully nourished - with incense, food, and joss-paper offerings - the living are blessed in return. Strong roots, thriving branches: when the ancestors are at peace, the household grows in prosperity.
Regular remembrance, above all monthly offerings, is counted among the fastest ways to improve luck and finances. To provide for one's forebears is to accrue hidden merit - yin virtue - that returns as blessings, harmony, and timely opportunity. The ceremony is performed by Master MingDai, who writes the petition by hand, reads your family's names aloud before the altar, and conducts the full liturgy with proper reverence. You need not attend in person; sincere intent fulfills the rite.
What You Receive · 所得
What the offering includes
Personalized prayer & lineage reading
Your family names, ancestor names, and wishes are inscribed and read aloud during the ceremony - the essential act of filial devotion.
Auspicious date scheduling
The day and hour are selected per the lunar calendar or your family tradition - festival dates, death anniversaries, or any date you specify.
Complete ritual liturgy
Altar setup; incense, fruit, food, tea, and joss-paper offerings; respectful bows; Taoist scripture and prayers; the burning that delivers resources to your ancestors.
Your choice of provision bags
Two kinds of provision are available for your forebears, at different prices - the Ancestor Bag ($28/bag: 30 gold bars, 500 spirit-money ingots, Jade Emperor money worth 350 ingots a sheet, ten-thousand-string cash, all-roads-pass coins, gold and silver foil, carter & strongman escorts, and a delivery receipt) and the Ingot Bag ($18/bag: 1,000 folded ingots). Choose either, or both, at booking.
