Most enquiries about the paid tier arrive as one sentence: what do I actually get? Fair question, and the honest answer is unglamorous. A Daomind Pro reading is a written report on a chart you already own — the four pillars derived from your birth data — plus a scheduled conversation about it. Nothing is revealed that was hidden. Something is read that was unread.
The chart is free. The reading is work.
Start with what costs nothing. The free Ba Zi calculator on this site builds your four pillars, maps the ten gods, and prints the elemental balance as a table. Anyone can run it in two minutes, and many people get what they came for at that point: a structure, a vocabulary, and a named day master.
What the calculator cannot do is interpret. Reading a chart means weighing three things against each other — the strength of the day master, the seasonal weather of the month pillar, and the useful god that a particular chart needs — and then testing that reading against how a person's life has actually gone. That is a conversation, and a conversation takes preparation on both sides.
What arrives in a Pro report
A standard Pro engagement produces:
- A written chart analysis, typically 1,500–2,500 words, covering day master strength, favourable and unfavourable elements, and the structural pattern the chart falls into.
- A year-by-year walk-through for the coming three years, translating each annual branch into what it activates inside your natal chart.
- Practical sections on work, money, and relationships, written as tendencies and timing rather than verdicts.
- One live session, usually 45 to 60 minutes, in which we go through the report together and you ask the questions it raised.
- Follow-up notes for 30 days after the session, so a question that surfaces in November does not wait for a new purchase.
Reports are delivered as documents. There is no ritual component in the standard tier; if you want a ritual, that is a different service entirely.
What it deliberately leaves out
Three exclusions are worth stating plainly, because they are the most frequent source of disappointment.
No medical, legal, or investment advice. Charts describe temperament and timing. They do not diagnose, and they are not a substitute for a doctor, a lawyer, or a licensed adviser.
No fixed dates for events. A report can indicate that a year is structurally heavy for a particular area of life. It will not tell you that you will sign a contract on 14 March, and if a reader does, you are being sold certainty rather than read a chart.
No death, illness, or lifespan predictions. This is standard practice in serious lineages, and we hold to it without exception.
Preparing a reading
Most of the friction in a first session comes from birth data, so gather it before booking.
- Exact clock time, not "around dawn". Ba Zi uses the hour pillar, and two hours can move it.
- The correct time zone for where you were born, not where you live now. A chart cast for the wrong zone shifts the hour pillar the same way a wrong clock would.
- City of birth, since latitude matters for solar time adjustments.
- Three or four life events with dates — a move, a job change, a long relationship's start or end. These are your calibration data. If the reading is sound, those dates should line up with the chart, and if they do not, the reading needs revisiting before it goes any further.
The tier itself, including turnaround and pricing, is set out on the Pro membership page; sessions run through the booking page, which handles scheduling and the intake form. If you are unsure whether you need the paid tier at all, what a day master is explains the one concept the free tool already gives you — and for many readers that name alone changes how they think about the rest of the chart.
Who the Pro tier is not for
If your question is "will this be a good year", the free calculator plus the annual overview on this site will answer most of it. If your question is "what should I do with this year", the Pro report earns its price.
There is also a category of reader who should be declined politely: someone looking for permission. A chart can describe a temperament that habitually hesitates, or one that commits too fast. It cannot decide for you, and a reader who makes the decision is not reading the chart any more — he is guessing, with your money.
The paid tier is a written opinion about a structure you were born with, delivered by someone who has read several thousand of them. That is all. It is also, for the right question, enough.
